Who is the instructor?
Dr. Ningsheng Huang holds a PhD in education and is talented in many arts such as TaChi, Kungfu, QiGong and music. He is a certified TaiChi master and KungFu coach.
He has taught and practiced TaiChi and KungFu art for many years in Yucai. Additionally, he is skilled at playing
folk musical instruments such as the bamboo flute and cucurbit flute. Dr. Huang currently leads an adult TaiChi practice group.
Who can attend the class?
Any adults interested in practicing TaiChi/KongFu/QiGong are welcome.
What will be practiced in the class?
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. In this class, we will practice the Yang Style of TaiChi with 24 forms (24式杨氏太极拳), Ba Duan Jin (八段锦), and Yi Jin Jing (易筋经), etc.
Why should I practice Taichi?
Practicing TaiChi helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. It can improve your mood, aerobic capacity, energy, flexibility, balance, and muscle strength through gentle and flowing movements. It is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. It is inexpensive and requires no special equipment. Finally, practicing it in a group helps you receive social support.
